    Dullcoat Alternative

The ever-elusive the dullcoat Iíve seen this asked in model building sites and magazines, and 99.9% of the time, folks point you to Testorís Dullcoat! Great product; nasty-assed stuff! Iíd youíre gonna use that, get out the hazmat gear... well OK, being a little bit of a Drama Queen there, but seriously, you need a well ventilated space and breathing protection.

    I like non-toxic and/or human-friendly solutions!

Tamiya Flat Base & Future -

A final dull coat option that doesn't include lacquers or harsh chemicals. I have determined through a little research that Tamiya Flat Base mixed with a heavier concentration of Future acrylic floor polish will make a nice flat coat.

    Basically.....

    * 1 part flat base to 3 parts Future = very flat
    * 1 part flat base to 10 parts Future = flat
    * 1 part flat base to 15 parts Future = satin

Sprayed on at about 15 psi and you're good to go.
