YouTube videos can be an awesome way to highlight a game, or building and painting examples, and of course tutorials. Today, social media has elevated the use of YouTube to historic proportions. The younger generation in particular are creating whole JOBS around being YouTube personalities!
But the point is, on a forum such as this, wargaming videos are abundant, so it is understandable that members would benefit from posting some here and ther across the forums. This will show you how to do it:
1.
Create a new thread as usual, by clickong the
+Post New Thread button;
2.
Click on the icon of the little film strip on the second line of the tool bars...
3. You will then get get a pop-up box on your screen.
- Look for the "Enter you video clip URL below" instruction; and
- Enter your YouTube URL in the box below as instructed;
- Click OK...
4. You will see that the YouTube URL is populated into the text editor of your thread post...
5. Finish entering whatever text you want to relay in your post, and click
Submit New Thread at the bottom right of the text editor as usual.
And Voila....you posted a YouTube Video, just like the one below
NOTE: The video will post to the very edge of the right side of the post. That's because, that is where the YouTube URL lands when you import it! If you want the video to be more centered, or at least a little away from the right edge, place your cursor in front of the populated URL and press the Increase Indent button on the tool bar (the button with the little right-pointing arrow against lines; and for you completely computer-challenged folk, you can hover over the buttons for a second and help text will pop up to tell you what the button is!)
